characterization poster and information sheets
Developed by Inotiv, the new SHrN (“Shorn”) model delivers on our mission of providing innovative models and services to improve your research.
With a level of immunodeficiency that goes beyond other traditional hairless SCID mice and fewer dendritic cells than all triple-deficient models, the SHrN brings a new option to oncology and immunology researchers.
With no need to shave the model, you’ll save time and effort in the lab. To receive more information and to download our model characterization poster and the SHrN information sheets, please fill out the form.
Characteristics
The SHrN® (“Shorn”) is an inbred immunocompromised mouse developed by Harlan. The model was created by backcrossing the hairless (Hr) mutation on to a NOD.SCID mouse. The SHrN® is a triple-immunodeficient model with desirable characteristics. Harlan was renamed Envigo in 2015. Inotiv aquired Envigo in 2021
- More immunocompromised than other hairless SCID models
- Phenotypically hairless (sparse, intermittent hair growth possible)
- Enhanced acceptance and growth of cells for humanization
- Decreased macrophage function and granulocyte function
