Hypertension (or high blood pressure) is defined as having systolic blood pressure over 130 mmHg or a diastolic blood pressure greater than 80 mmHg. Hypertension increases the risk for heart disease, kidney disease, and stroke, and in 2021, was the primary or contributing cause of 691,095 deaths in the United States. Nearly half of all adults in the United States have hypertension, and only one quarter of those with hypertension have it under control.
Join Inotiv scientists as they discuss the use of translational animal models of cardiovascular and renal disease, focusing on hypertension as a driving factor for disease progressions, in the development of novel therapeutics.
In this webinar, we:
- Review the impacts of hypertension on cardiovascular and renal system health
- Discuss the integration of cardiovascular and renal physiology and its application in complex animal models of disease
- Examine the translation of complex animal models of disease to clinical findings and their value in pharmacology and drug discovery
