Mapping Alzheimer’s Disease with Spatial Transcriptomics

Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer's disease (AD) requires more than identifying changes in gene expression. Determining where these changes occur within the brain can provide important insights into disease-associated pathways and potential therapeutic targets.

In this study, Inotiv researchers used spatial transcriptomics to investigate region-specific gene expression changes in the Tg2576 mouse model of AD. By examining transcriptional differences across the hippocampus and surrounding brain regions, researchers identified dysregulated pathways associated with AD pathophysiology and potential novel candidates for further investigation.
